Blue Loon in Fairbanks

Nice old bar with lots of history. But only 3 stars because it was very smoky and very hot. Lots of sirens as well.

I live this place, but not for the food, which is good but not awesome. The movies are so much fun. The live performances are great. It's just a heck of a lot of fun!

Best damn place in town for live shows.

If you want food, drinks and a film thenook no further than the Blue Loon. The perfect place to sit and enjoy a meal with friends while watching an epic movie is the best way to spend an alaskan evening. Good prices, good food, and good staff all make this a place that should be on the shortlist for a night out!

Iconic but slightly delapitated vintage bar. Not recommenced unless you like places that look like they haven't changed the the Klondike gold rush

Great movies, food has ups and downs -- they seem to be on an upswing now. Service always great in my experience. Sometimes crowded during concerts.

It wasn't bad. But they don't accept debit or credit cards so you have to use an atm. That sucks. They need to step it up. But good concert venue

Went to a comedy show. Great fun. Laid back, clean hometown bar with great beer selection and pizza too.

We went for the last new years party and it was just kind of sad and empty. The staff were super great though.

Ok bar. Apparently this counts as a club (?!) Maybe for this part of the world...but no. This is not a club, got a little bistro kind of food stand and a decent bar. Live music and has a movie theatre right off the main bar part. Not bad. Has an old west feel like you are in a converted barn.

Bar, restaurant, movie theater, and event venue extraordinaire. The Blue Loon is an important part of Fairbanks entertainment opportunities. I love watching movies in real theater seats with wine and a snack. The live music, both local and imported, is top notch, the dance floor is large, and it's a safe place to go.

Nice place to eat and watch movies, just wish they had movies more than 2 to 3 days a week.

Came here to see Tech N9ne. It was an epic show couldn't be any happier with the venue and all of the people there. Security was okay and they did end up throwing a couple people out but this was probably for a reason. Overall great place for small to medium size concerts

Great band. Great show from "sweating honey"

Good place to go when an event is going on. Inside gets hot after awhile of dancing. They host alot of local aritst.

What a great time we had eating yummy pizza and sampling delicious beer. The staff was so friendly and helpful, which made for a very fun evening.

The Blue Loon is great! Great service. They've got good food at a reasonable price, and a nice little theater where you can watch movies while you eat (and drink- there's a bar). I like it because its small, and its the only other theater besides the big chain theater, in the Fairbanks area. So you can see movies there that otherwise may not have been shown at all, in Interior Alaska. I only gave it four out of five stars though, because there used to be a pool table upstairs and now it's gone. If they replace it, I'll give it five stars!

The pizza was amazing. The staff was very friendly and the experience was great.

Inside concerts are great outdoors are pot filled mosh pits. I have had good and bad service from staff nothing special would rate lower but for fairbanks is 4 stars

This is a casual place with decent burgers and pizza, as well as a good selection of beer. It is usually quiet unless there is a live event scheduled.

Food is awful and inconsistent; they are regularly out certain items or the kitchen staff doesn't show and can't make half the menu. Wait staff is incompetent. Dining area is dimly lit and dingy. Management is inconsiderate and their events (other than those planned and hosted by external organizations) are awful and poorly executed. I will no longer give this establishment my patronage.

A great place to visit year round. During the summer their live concerts and music are great ways to spend those warmer summer days. The winter comedy season is great as they get a collection of comedians from all over.Edit 2 23 19I lowered my rating by a star. A friend his daughter and I were attending a comedy show. The owner refused to allow the daughter (20years old] entry because the show is "vulgar" even thought her father is there with her. The owner didn't deny service because of alcohol is served but vulgarity. That I'd not the owners call to make.

Fun place for drinks and music concerts. When they have an outdoor concert they have dry side so f you can bring family as well. This place is worth visiting.

The entertainment and movies are great for a night out

The Blue Loon is not only home to the biggest concerts in interior Alaska, but they show movies in a sit down and eat movie theater, offer great food and drinks, and have some sort of event going on most days. And the people that work there are so nice!
